Project Overview

JAK Audio Visual recently partnered with Ramlegh Park Primary School to transform their school gymnasium into a modern, multi-purpose presentation space capable of supporting assemblies, performances, sporting events, community functions and school celebrations.

The brief was clear: deliver an impressive visual solution that provided exceptional image quality while offering the flexibility to accommodate events held in different orientations within the gym.

The Solution

JAK AV designed and installed a complete integrated audio visual system centred around three Aurora VSPEC LED Video Walls:

​

• 2 × 160" Aurora VSPEC Video Walls - with AOB Protection

• 1 × 180" Aurora VSPEC Video Wall- with AOB Protection

• 1 × Crestron TSW-770 Touch Panel

• 1 × Crestron HD-PS622 Presentation Switch

• 2 × Crestron HD-TX-4KZ-211 Wall Plate Transmitters

• 1 × Mipro ACT727 Dual Wireless Mic Receiver

• 2 × LEA Professional Connect Series 354 Amplifiers

• 8 × dB Technologies LVX P12 Loudspeakers

• 1 × Denon Pro DN-200BR Bluetooth Audio Receiver

The result is a premium AV solution that combines outstanding image quality with powerful, evenly distributed audio throughout the entire gymnasium.

Designed for Flexibility

One of the standout features of the installation is its ability to operate in either landscape or portrait orientation.

​

Different school events often require different room layouts. Assemblies, presentations and performances may be better suited to one orientation, while sporting presentations or community events may benefit from another.

​

Using the intuitive Crestron TSW-770 touch panel, staff can switch between room configurations with a single press. The system automatically changes both the video routing and audio distribution, ensuring the correct video wall and speaker configuration is selected for the event.

​

This allows every audience member to enjoy clear visuals and intelligible sound regardless of where they are seated.

​

Exceptional Image Quality

Aurora Video Walls provide bright, vibrant images with excellent colour reproduction and clarity, making them ideal for education environments.

​

Whether displaying student presentations, videos, live camera feeds, performances or school announcements, the LED displays deliver exceptional visibility from anywhere in the gym, even under high ambient lighting conditions.

​

The combination of two 160-inch displays and a larger 180-inch display gives the school multiple presentation options while maintaining a consistent visual experience across the venue and the AOB impact protection keeps them safe from stray balls.

Powerful Audio Coverage

To complement the visual experience, JAK AV designed a professional sound system using:

​

• Eight dB Technologies LVX P12 loudspeakers

• Two LEA Professional Connect Series 354 network amplifiers

 

The system provides consistent, high-quality audio coverage throughout the gymnasium, ensuring speech remains clear and music retains its impact no matter how the room is configured.

​

Bluetooth connectivity via the Denon Pro receiver also allows staff to quickly connect mobile devices for music playback during events and activities.

​

Simple for Staff to Operate

Despite the sophistication of the system, daily operation is intentionally simple.

The custom Crestron control interface provides straightforward controls for:

• Selecting room orientation

• Switching presentation sources

• Managing audio routing

• Controlling system operation

 

This enables teachers and staff to confidently operate the system without requiring specialist technical knowledge.

The Outcome

The completed installation has provided Ramlegh Park Primary School with a future-ready gymnasium that delivers premium visual impact, exceptional sound quality and the flexibility to adapt to a wide variety of school and community events.
